About Saturday Night: Charleston RiverDogs, August 19, 2017
The second stop of my August road trip in the Carolinas was Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park, home of the Charleston RiverDogs.
August 19: Charleston RiverDogs (Class A affiliate of the New York Yankees)
Opponent: Augusta GreenJackets, 6:05 p.m.
I visited the RiverDogs just last year, so I’ll refrain from doing another standard “About Last Night” blog post. Instead, I’ll share five interesting things that happened on this (scorching hot) mid-August evening.
- After a long hiatus, Bark the Palmetto Tree returned to action.
2. The “Eclipse at the Park” jerseys that the RiverDogs will be wearing on Monday look pretty good.
3. Mystery beer costs $2
4. Stevie the Dancing Bat Boy has some serious moves.
5. I met Bill Murray, RiverDogs co-owner and “Director of Fun.”
More to come regarding all of the above points of interest, I promise.
